UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Courtney Williams scored 29 points and No. 20 South Florida eliminated SMU from the American Athletic Conference tournament, 73-60, on Saturday.
Second-seeded USF (22-8) will face the winner of sixth-seeded Tulsa and No. 3-seed Temple in the semifinals on Sunday.
Williams was 12 of 26 from the field with four 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds. Ariadna Pujol scored 16 points for the Bulls.
South Florida (22-8) got up big early. The Bulls led 23-15 after the first quarter, then limited SMU to eight points in the second and led 39-23 at the break.
