They shared a vision of ushering in the new era of SMU basketball. They talked about playing in front of sellout crowds at renovated Moody Coliseum, winning conference titles, playing in the NCAA tournament.
Three years later, Moore and Kennedy will play their final home game on Thursday against Connecticut in a key American Athletic Conference game. The Mustangs (24-4) are ranked 24th and contending for their second straight league title.
