SMU's new coaching staff didn't get to spend much of their first month or so on the job with the current SMU roster. That's just the nature of the business when a staff has to put together a recruiting class before the first Wednesday in February.
So when the staff got from a little post-signing day rest and recovery, head coach Sonny Dykes and his assistants wanted to make bonding with the current players on the roster a priority before spring football starts in March.
Offensive line coach Jamal Powell made some progress in that regard by treating his position group to dinner at one of University Park's local favorites, Pluckers Wing Bar.
