The second round of the NBA draft is a crapshoot.
But you know there are going to be good players that get taken in the second round.
When you look at some of names that came out of the second round, you know that the Mavericks, with picks 33 and 54, have a shot to get serious help if they make the right decisions.
Malcolm Brogdon (36th, 2016), Nikola Jokic (42nd, 2014), Khris Middleton (39th, 2012), Draymond Green (35th, 2012) and Hassan Whiteside (33rd, 2010) all have been high-quality contributors on playoff teams or, in Jokic's case, a team that won 46 games and missed the playoffs this season on the final day of the season.
