Frank Jackson enjoyed a Hall of Fame moment or two during his AFL career with first the Dallas Texans and then the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jackson was a bit of a throwaway as a 19th-round pick by the Texans out of SMU in the 1961 AFL draft -- a long shot to make the 35-player roster of a team coming off a runner-up finish in the Western Division in the league's inaugural season. But Jackson did make the team and wound up catching 13 passes and scoring two touchdowns. When the Texans moved starting halfback Johnny Robinson to safety in 1962, Jackson replaced him in the offensive lineup as a receiver.
