After a spring without some of its top players, SMU is welcoming reinforcements back for the start of fall camp, headlined by the return of standout cornerback Jordan Wyatt.
Wyatt, who had surgeries to repair a torn labrum and a torn ACL after the 2017 season, was back on the field Saturday morning, the second practice of camp for the Mustangs. It was the first one open to reporters.
Wyatt practiced with the first-team defense, bolstering a group that fielded just five healthy corners for the spring game. SMU coach Sonny Dykes said both Wyatt and linebacker Kyran Mitchell "are both in pretty great shape.
