UNIVERSITY PARK -- Somehow, the expression "when it rains, it pours" doesn't do justice to the 2017-18 basketball season for SMU.
The Mustangs suffered their worst home loss in a decade as No. 6 Cincinnati raced away to a 76-51 win. It was SMU's third loss in a row and fourth in five games. It's the first time SMU has dropped four out of five since 2012-13, Larry Brown's first season on the Hilltop.
SMU has been dealing with a litany of injuries this year, but hoped to get leading scorer Shake Milton back against Cincinnati. Not only was Milton ruled out for the third straight game due to a right hand injury, but starting forward Ethan Chargois injured his ankle during morning shoot-around and could not play.
