UNIVERSITY PARK -- As SMU's bowl practice was nearing its end Thursday afternoon, the defense forced a turnover. The defensive players on the east sideline of Gerald J. Ford Stadium rushed onto the field to celebrate, whooping and hollering as rap music played in the background.
It didn't feel all that different from the Chad Morris era, as opposed to now, when SMU has gone from one head coach to an interim to a new head coach in the matter of five days.
"I've been very pleased with how the guys have responded to adversity," quarterback Ben Hicks said.
