Beginning with J.C. Wetsel in 1936, the Mustangs have had a tradition of sending players to the big league, most recently wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Trey Quinn, and defensive end Justin Lawler.
Sutton, who was the 40th pick in the 2018 Draft, has been making a name for himself in the NFL alongside another Denver Broncos wide receiver, SMU’s Emmanuel Sanders.

Sanders, the 82nd pick in the 2010 Draft, has acted as a mentor to Sutton, teaching him how to adapt to life in the NFL, according to BroncosWire.
