Sports Illustrated's Bruce Feldman asked former SMU standout running back Eric Dickerson who he'd like to see be the Mustangs' next head coach. His answer: Former SMU quarterback Ramon Flanigan.
The two never played together, with Dickerson being a part of the Pony Express teams in the 1980s and Flanigan leading SMU to its first winning season in the post-death penalty era in 1997. But Dickerson thinks that Flanigan would be a natural fit in charge of the Ponies.
