Former SMU head basketball coach Larry Brown has agreed to become the head coach of Italian Lega A team Fiat Torino, the team announced on Wednesday.
It will be Brown's first coaching job since resigning from his post at SMU prior to the 2016-17 season. The 77-year-old Naismith Hall of Famer will also be taking his first job in Eurpoe.
"The choice of Coach Brown was born, above all, from the consideration of a unique combination of quality, talent, and culture of basketball, that makes him a brilliant coach," Torino vice president Francesco Forni said in a statement.
