SMU pulled off a shocking 45-31 upset over Houston in Week 10, the Mustangs' second win over a ranked Cougars team in the last three seasons. Not only did the win bolster SMU's chances of becoming bowl eligible, but also moved the Mustangs within one game of first place in the American Athletic Conference western division.
However, a majority of the latest bowl projections still have SMU missing the postseason.
With winnable games against UConn and Tulsa approaching and the Mustangs needing only two wins to reach bowl eligibility, fans might be disappointed to learn that SMU reaches the postseason in only 3 of the 10 major projections this week.
