The American Athletic Conference women’s basketball awards came out March 3, and SMU player McKenzie Adams was named as the AAC Newcomer of the Year, and Alicia Froling was named to the all-conference third team.
After transferring from Arkansas, Adams practiced with SMU last season before making her impact this season. Adams ranked 10th in the conference, averaging 13.6 points per game. Adams has score 395 points over the course of the season, including 46 3-pointers, which ranks 11th in the conference.
Throughout the season, Froling has proved to be a consistent, steady player for the Mustangs, averaging 12.
