It was rainy. It was damp. And at the end of it all, the Iron Skillet returns to Cowtown.
Here are five takeaways from TCU's 42-12 win over SMU:
1. SMU scores first, then stalls
Last week against North Texas, the Mustangs suffered three-and-out after three-and-out. SMU wanted to run the ball early, and that didn't happen. Head coach Sonny Dykes and Brett Lashlee's offense spun its wheels for most of the game and the Mustangs ran the ball for only four positive yards.
That's not what we saw against TCU.
The Mustangs broke out of the gate especially quick, scoring a touchdown on only five plays -- four of which were runs up the middle.
