Here are a few takeaways from SMU's 82-74 loss to Temple on Wednesday:
The Joy of Painting
SMU's offensive fingerprint vs. Temple was quite different than what we've seen from the Mustangs in recent weeks. Rather than relying on 3-point shooting to hang around against the Owls, SMU made a concerted effort to attack the rim and high post. The Mustangs' ratio of 2-point field goals attempted noticeably increased, leading to higher than average production in the paint. The Mustangs scored 44 points in the paint (!) and grabbed 18 offensive boards. Every player who checked into the game grabbed a rebound.
