Here are a few takeaways from SMU's 76-64 loss to UConn on Thursday:
A bad, bad man
Jimmy Whitt's string of fantastic performances continued in Storrs. Whitt scored 20 points on 9 of 18 shooting -- extending his streak of double-figure scoring to four games -- and tallied 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double. First-half foul trouble prevented an even better showing.
Whitt is slowly transforming into a player that SMU looks significantly worse without. Dare say, like Nic Moore? While Whitt's style of play and shooting range are completely different than that of the former SMU point guard, he's continually becoming more aggressive as an offensive weapon.
