Here are a few takeaways from SMU's 67-66 loss to USF on Thursday:
Crashing the party
SMU has been consistently good on the offensive glass this season and rarely gets out-rebounded at home. But the Mustangs and Bulls entered the game as the best offensive rebounding teams in the American Athletic Conference and top 20 in the nation -- both averaging an offensive board on 36 percent of possessions.
SMU and USF grabbed 13 rebounds in the first half, respectively, with the Bulls grabbing an extra on the offensive end. USF favors going right back up with the ball, giving the Bulls a 16-10 points-in-the-paint edge over the Mustangs entering the break.
