With the college football season officially in the books, we look ahead to 2019. Here are three reasons the Mustangs could be worse next season.
2,582 passing yards to replace
The loss of quarterback Ben Hicks can be fully realized by looking at the records he set while on The Hilltop. Hicks, the program's leader in passing yards (9,081), passing touchdowns (71), total offense (8,977), completions (718), and touchdowns responsible for (74) opted to forgo his senior year at SMU and become a graduate transfer. Destination still TBD.
2,500 passing yards, believe it or not, was a dip in production for Hicks -- about 1,000 fewer yards than he passed for as a sophomore and 400 less than his freshman season.
