With New Jersey possibly on the verge of winning its years-long court case on the matter, a majority of Americans support legalizing sports betting -- even though they believe it could hurt the sports they're betting on.
Such are the findings of a survey released this week by the Seton Hall Sports Poll, which found 55 percent of U.S. residents favor legalizing wagering on sporting events, compared to 35 percent who don't.
The poll also found 48 percent of those people feel such betting would tarnish the integrity of sports events, compared to 42 percent who don't.
