Seton Hall athletics director Pat Lyons is staying put.
Lyons is no longer a candidate to fill the athletics director vacancy at Boston College, sources told NJ Advance Media.
At one point last week, Lyons was one of the leading options to replace Brad Bates, whose resignation is effective at the end of the school year. Lyons interviewed with Boston College officials last week in Atlanta, as first reported by TMGCollegeSports and confirmed by NJAM.
But interest from both sides dwindled after the meeting, as Boston College moved in the direction of hiring a candidate with major college football experience and Lyons decided that a larger salary might not be worth some of the job's other pitfalls, according to a source.
