Seton Hall squanders opportunity against No. 11 Butler, 61-54 | Rapid reaction

NEWARK -- It would have been ugly, but Seton Hall had a chance to burnish its resume nonetheless against No. 11 Butler on Wednesday. Instead of their most impressive Big East victory to date, though, the Pirates walked away with maybe their most disappointing loss.

Seton Hall overcame an incredibly slow offensive start to get back in the game against the Bulldogs and even led late. But a late run from Butler sealed a 61-54 defeat at Prudential Center.

The first half was marred by some of the most brutal offense in recent Seton Hall memory, as the Pirates shot just 21 percent from the field, went 1-for-11 from 3-poing range and assisted on just one of its seven baskets.
