NEW YORK – On Saturday afternoon, Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard added the greatest regular season chapter to his Madison Square Garden history book. After 45 minutes filled with adrenaline, hyperbole and seemingly insurmountable adversity, the Seton Hall men’s basketball team overcame Kentucky, 84-83.
The scene was primed for a classic, with a blue ocean of 10,244 inside the Mecca of basketball. The game started with a lack of basic field goal conversion, but ended with shot-making of the highest quality.
The mayhem truly began when Myles Cale made a brave cut to the basket with 1:31 to go and the Pirates down, 67-64.
