The Seton Hall Pirates baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader against the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, April 30 at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, Maryland.
Game one began at 12:00 p.m., with Pirates starter Zach Prendergast facing off against Georgetown’s Simon Mathews. Mathews won the pitching duel, throwing a complete game shutout and striking out five. Prendergast pitched for six innings, allowing one run on six hits and three walks while striking out six.
The Hoyas were held scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning. Left fielder Charlie Dillon reached on a throwing error by Pirates third baseman Joe Poduslenko.
