BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Had it been a NASCAR race, Tennessee would have spent the early portions on pit row in its 45-24 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday night.
But as we’ve seen two weeks into this college football season, the No. 17 Vols are resilient, if nothing else, not too shabby at pouncing on their opponents’ mistakes and seemingly finding new weapons along the way.
Let’s face it. The draw was the venue. It’s not every day you see a football game played at a racetrack, and 156,990 people -- the most to ever witness a college football game in person -- flocked to Bristol Motor Speedway to be a part of this little slice of history.
