In the Derek Mason era at Vanderbilt, points have been hard to come by.
In the Commodores' 32 games against FBS opponents since Mason took over in 2014, only eight times have they scored at least 21 points. Defense has been the calling card while the offense has been slow to come along.
That might be changing, if the Commodores' most recent result is any indication.
The 38 points Vanderbilt put up in a 21-point victory over Ole Miss last week is the most the Commodores have scored against an SEC opponent in the Mason era.
