The anatomy of a disaster: How the 2016 Ole Miss season fell apart

OXFORD, Miss. -- What if I told you that the last time Nick Saban lost was 437 days ago. And what if I told you that the last team to beat the mighty Crimson Tide was the same team that went from a New Year’s Six bowl to missing the postseason altogether in just one year.

OK, so maybe the demise of Ole Miss football in 2016 isn’t going to be made into a 30 for 30 documentary. But that doesn’t make it any less compelling.

Before the season, it was SEC championship or bust. The Rebels had played in back-to-back New Year’s Six bowls.
