With spring practice underway throughout most of the SEC, we’re taking a closer look this week at the league’s most interesting position battles. The series continues today with a preview of Kentucky’s No. 2 running back.
The skinny: Snell Jr. had a spectacular freshman year at Kentucky, rushing for 1,091 yards and 13 touchdowns, despite not playing the first three games of the season.
But, at the end of the day, Snell started only one game with the rest of the starts going to Williams and Kemp. The two vets combined for 2,929 yards and 25 touchdowns the past two seasons, and now they’re gone.
