In improbable fashion, Jim McElwain has a chance to put his Gators firmly in the SEC Eastern Division driver's seat with a win over rival Georgia on Saturday. A win by No. 11 Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) over the Bulldogs (5-2, 3-2) would almost solidify the Gators' spot in Atlanta.
But McElwain can't get ahead of himself. He must first experience one of college football's greatest spectacles: The World's Largest Outdoor Party down in Jacksonville, Florida.
This heated rivalry dates back to 1915 (according to Florida) or 1904 (according to Georgia). It's been played in Jacksonville 82 times, with the Bulldogs owning a 43-38-1 advantage.
