Who wants to represent the SEC in the Allstate Sugar Bowl anyway?
Each week seems to have a new favorite to grab that spot in the New Year's Six, and this week its Florida's turn. The Gators replace LSU in our projections after beating the Tigers 16-10 last Saturday in Baton Rouge.
The Gators (8-2, 6-2 SEC) sit 15th in Tuesday's newest College Football Playoff rankings and can improve that standing even more by beating No. 14 Florida State on Saturday (8 p.m. ET, ABC). Of course, the following week's appointment with top-ranked Alabama (11-0, 7-0) in the SEC championship game could also swing things either way for Florida, too.
