Back-to-back New Year’s Six bowl games raised the expectations in Oxford. This season, Ole Miss fell well short of those expectations. For the first time in Hugh Freeze’s five years as head coach, the Rebels will not play in any bowl game.

Best moment: It was a moment that was never supposed to happen. Chad Kelly wasn’t supposed to get hurt. Freeze wasn’t supposed to pull the redshirt off freshman Shea Patterson. But in his first college game, Patterson accounted for over 400 total yards and two touchdowns and led Ole Miss to a 29-28 come-from-behind win on the road at Texas A&M.
