SEC teams have gotten off to a rough start in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
After Auburn's upset loss at the hands of a lower-seeded Yale squad, schools within the SEC own a combined record of 1-5 in March Madness so far.
This includes Florida falling to Colorado on a game-winning jumper with less than two seconds remaining in the second half on Friday as well as Kentucky's shocking defeat against No. 14 seed Oakland on Thursday night.
When discussing a potential expanded tournament, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey previously told Kyle Tucker of The Athletic that he wasn't a fan of schools from smaller leagues automatically qualifying.
