SEC reporter debate: Why is the SEC East so bad?

Is this the worst the SEC East has ever been?

It's a fair question. Florida's loss to Arkansas over the weekend was the latest example of how far the East has fallen. And with the Gators dropping out of this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, it's now the only Power Five division in college football without at least one team in the Top 25.

Over the last three seasons, the SEC East has won only seven of its 40 games against the SEC West. Kentucky is the only East team to beat a West opponent this season, and it took a last-second 51-yard field goal for the Wildcats to beat Mississippi State.
