This current crop of SEC football coaches is not as strong as it’s been in recent years. You only have to go a few years back to when the SEC had guys like Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Les Miles, and Mark Richt, all of which would be the second best coach in the SEC, given the current coaching landscape.
In 2016, the SEC was not the best conference, far from it actually. Every team in the SEC, outside of Alabama, had at least four losses.
And you can look no further than the head coaches for the reason.
