This isn’t the season Ole Miss that coach Hugh Freeze hoped for.
There will be no SEC Championship Game, no New Year’s Six Bowl, no trip to the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
But what’s done is done. It’s a shame that the next time we see Chad Kelly he will be in an NFL jersey, but there’s no need to call what’s happening in Oxford a lost season just yet.
Instead, mark a big X over every day that came before Nov. 5. Wipe out the win-loss record and start anew.
Two weeks ago, after Kelly was lost for the season during a win against Georgia Southern, Ole Miss was forced to turn the page and begin building toward 2017.
