Planning for success: Georgia plays underdog role in 'elimination game'

What’s the adage? When it comes to rivalry games, you can throw the records out the window.

Well, that has been true in the Florida-Georgia game recently. The favored team has only won two of the past five meetings, and just last year, a Gators team that eventually fired its coach knocked off No. 11 Georgia in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Maybe that bodes well for the Bulldogs, because they’re the underdog this year. Florida enters the game ranked No. 11 in the AP poll, and Georgia comes in unranked. So it was the Gators who opened as 3-point favorites.
