STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Egg Bowl was supposed to be all about Dak Prescott. It was the senior’s final home game at Mississippi State, and he wanted to make one last memory inside Davis-Wade Stadium.
Somebody forgot to relay the message to Ole Miss. From the opening kick, the Rebels swarmed Prescott, forcing two turnovers and sacking him six times. They outplayed their in-state rival en route to a 38-27 win on Saturday.
And for the first time since 2004, Ole Miss has won back-to-back Egg Bowls.
What this win means for Ole Miss: The Rebels looked like a team that wanted to play in the SEC championship.
