One of the least interesting position battles in the SEC this offseason is, mercifully, over. Luke Del Rio has been named the starting quarterback for the Florida Gators. McElwain said,

“Luke is going to work as the starter the rest of camp and start in the season opener barring any unforeseen development. Our other quarterbacks remain in the plans and are ready to move forward and help the Gators any way they can.”
McElwain has played coy all offseason, pretending that Florida’s other three quarterbacks had a legitimate chance of winning the job.
