BATON ROUGE, La. -- Rudy Ford and the rest of Auburn's defense got an up-close look last year at what happens when they challenged Leonard Fournette.
Ford created headlines ahead of last season's Auburn-LSU game that stopping running back Fournette "shouldn't be difficult" – a prediction that seemed downright comical once Auburn coughed up 228 yards to the LSU All-American. Ford's claim became even more of a punchline when CBS color analyst Gary Danielson pointed out the Auburn safety's halfhearted effort at tackling Fournette on a 40-yard touchdown where he trucked cornerback Blake Countess en route to the end zone.
