BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU will break out new "Gridiron Gold" jerseys and alternate helmets for the Tigers' game against Mississippi State on Saturday.

On Saturday, the team will break from its tradition of wearing white home jerseys to match the folks in the stands.
LSU says that the new old gold Nike jersey is meant to be reminiscent of uniforms the Tigers wore during the 1940s.
