Life after Dak Prescott proves rough for Mississippi State

Smoke, mirrors and Dak Prescott.

That’s how the Mississippi State Bulldogs won nine games last season.

It certainly wasn’t their shoddy offensive line, their nonexistent running game or their bend-and-sometimes-break defense. Prescott made up for all that despite getting sacked more than any QB and getting fewer yards from his running backs than any team in the SEC.

Remove Prescott’s arm and legs and leadership from the equation and it was going to be bad. But this bad? Nobody saw this coming: a 21-20 loss at home to South Alabama, a Group of 5 program that didn’t exist 10 years ago.
