If you’re looking for the next SEC coach to go, look no further than Saturday’s Vanderbilt-Kentucky game.
Mark Stoops has been at Kentucky since 2013. Derek Mason arrived at Vanderbilt a year later in 2014. They are 7-38 combined in SEC games. It’s worse on the road where they are 1-21 against SEC teams – the lone victory came last year when the Wildcats won at South Carolina, breaking a 22-game road losing streak in the conference.
Neither coach has led his team to a bowl game; both need four wins to reach that coveted six-win plateau that would get them there this season.
