Kentucky passing game must improve if bowl to remain in reach

Kentucky was in this position in each of the last two years and the outcome was unpleasant.

Bowl eligibility is once again within reach for the Wildcats (3-3, 2-2 SEC), and the next two games will heavily influence whether they end a five-year postseason drought.

Once the Wildcats come off Saturday’s open date, they will prepare for a home date against Mississippi State next week followed by a trip to Missouri the following Saturday. Mississippi State and Mizzou are a combined 4-6 overall and 1-4 in SEC play -- exactly the type of opponents that determine whether borderline teams make it to bowl season.
