Jalen Hurd's departure latest blow for fading Vols

Three months ago, Tennessee was the overwhelming favorite to win the SEC East division. Hours away from trick-or-treating, and Tennessee's football program will be wearing the most hideous of costumes -- The Great Pumpkin.

That's Tennessee, after a 24-21 loss to a South Carolina team that is so young and inferior in talent that it had absolutely no business beating a top-25 Tennessee team coming off a bye with advantages at just about every single position on the field.

A healthier, rejuvenated Tennessee team that just endured back-to-back losses should have left Columbia, South Carolina, with a win, especially considering they were two-touchdown favorites.
