Georgia outlasts Missouri in a 'gut-check game' for the Bulldogs

The defensive struggle we expected to see down in Death Valley on Saturday night actually took place in Athens, Ga., between Georgia and Missouri. It was a game of field goals with Marshall Morgan’s 34-yarder the difference in a 9-6 win for the Bulldogs.

Morgan’s game-winning kick with 1:44 left came just minutes after the senior missed a 26-yard attempt wide left. But after a quick pep talk from his coach Mark Richt, he redeemed himself and lifted Georgia to victory.

“Victory is great, period,” Richt said after the game. “This league is so difficult to get any wins, and to win this one was huge.
