Willie Gay, the 211th-ranked player in the ESPN 300, committed to Mississippi State over in-state rival Ole Miss, Michigan and LSU.

The four-star prospect, a Starkville, Mississippi, native, is the 12th-ranked outside linebacker in the country.

Gay is the first member of the Mississippi State class ranked in the ESPN 300. The Bulldogs, however, do have six early signees that are ranked in the ESPN JC 50. Gay joins three-star Tyler Dunning as the only Mississippi State commitments at linebacker.

In all, Mississippi State has 18 commitments/signees, including eight who are four-star prospects.
