In one of the first announcements of national signing day, the 91st-ranked player in the ESPN 300, Tedarrell Slaton, committed to Florida.
The four-star defensive tackle, recruited to play defensive tackle, chose the Gators over Miami and Georgia.
At 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, Slaton will bring a physical presence to a unit that lost Caleb Brantley to the NFL draft and Joey Ivie to graduation. Slaton is Florida’s highest-rated commitment.
Slaton will join midyear enrollee Kyree Campbell and Elijah Conliffe, who committed to Florida on Tuesday, as defensive-tackle pledges for the Gators.
