KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Snapping an 11-game losing streak to Florida was monumental for the Tennessee Volunteers earlier this season. More than any win since Butch Jones took over the program, it signaled that Rocky Top was back. After a decade of failing to meet expectations, it said that, yes, there was something to the hype, and, yes, the East was theirs for the taking.
The 38-28 win in Knoxville also put an end to the tremendous amount of trash-talk emanating from Gainesville, unclogging more than a few players' mentions on social media.
It was a fun rivalry win, to be sure.
