NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Derek Mason's thick, scratchy voice boomed over the loudspeakers, drowning out A$AP Ferg's bass-heavy trap hit "Shabba" blaring throughout the Commodores' indoor practice facility.
He anxiously paces the defensive sideline (always his sideline of choice at practice) yelling into a silver microphone that helps him project his point even louder inside the Commodores' insulated bubble the morning after Spring Break.
"Can't be tired now!" Mason howls. Gotta want to play football!"
