BATON ROUGE, La. -- Playing for Dave Aranda was not the main consideration for the LSU defensive underclassmen who opted to stick around for their senior season, but they are clearly intrigued by what he will bring to the table.
The Tigers’ new defensive coordinator is known for utilizing multiple, creative alignments -- including 3-4 fronts that would represent a departure from the 4-3 base defense that LSU used in recent years -- and those schematic changes will allow the returning veterans to add to their arsenals.
“I like the way he moves guys around, so I’m interested to see how he’s going to work and how guys are going to be moved around, how I will be moved around,” said Kendell Beckwith, who played middle linebacker for the last two seasons under previous coordinators John Chavis and Kevin Steele.
