College football is all about routine. The past week has been anything but routine for the Florida Gators.
A week ago today, coaches and players found out that their upcoming game against LSU would be indefinitely postponed because of Hurricane Matthew. Was the storm going to affect Gainesville? Nobody knew for sure, but they shut down the campus anyway.
Some of the players, like safety Marcus Maye, grew up on the east coast of Florida where Matthew was supposed to hit the hardest. His mother evacuated their hometown of Melbourne, but his father and brother stayed to take care of the house and other people around them.
